FAMILY FAST DAY: Friday, 26th February is a Day of Special Prayer for the Needy and Hungry of the world. CAFOD envelopes are at the back of the church and should be returned as soon as possible. Taxpayers should complete the form with the envelope to allow CAFOD to reclaim the tax on any donation given.
IMPORTANT MEETING: The priests of the Deanery will meet with Bishop Seamus on 5th March to explore future developments in our area.
We will discuss: Manpower; Spirituality; Adult Formation and Leadership.
We will have fewer priests and need to bring lay people on board as soon as possible. We need to look at the spirituality of the diocesan priest.
We need to work more closely with neighbouring parishes
It is very important that we meet as a parish to discuss the way forward so that when I meet with the Bishop and Deanery Priests, I will be able to share the views of parishioners. For this reason a meeting will take place in the Parish Centre this Thursday, 25th February at 7.00pm. Hopefully, the parish will be well represented. It is important for members of the Parish Council to attend if at all possible.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION: for couples getting married during 2010 will take place on Sunday, 28th February here at St Michael’s commencing with Mass at 10.00am.
PARISH MAGAZINE: We hope to produce the next edition of our parish magazine in the near future. As always the success of the magazine depends on sufficient articles being submitted by Parishioners. This year we also wish to include a feature on “The way we were” and so we would like stories and photographs of parish and school life many years ago.
